How do I exercise my rights under PIPEDA?

At Rover, we're committed to safeguarding the privacy and security of our community.

The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) is a Canadian law that guides how organizations collect, use, and disclose user information when you use their services. For more information about how we collect, use, and share your personal data, please refer to the Rover Privacy Statement.

Under the PIPEDA, Canadian Rover users have several rights related to their personal data. The three rights Rover users request most often are the following:

  • Make corrections to personal data (Rectification)
  • Delete personal data in certain cases (Data Deletion)
  • Access personal data that was collected by Rover (Subject Access Request)

Correct, delete, or access your data

To make corrections to your personal data, you can reach out to Rover Support from the Help Center. You can also edit your profile at any time by logging in to your account. To update your address, phone number or payment card, follow the steps in this article.

To permanently delete or to request a copy of your data, submit a request through the Privacy Management Centre. Here’s how:

  1. Navigate to our Privacy Statement and click on the Privacy Management Centre button.
  2. Select the tab titled Data rights

You might also find the data you’re looking for (like account information, booking history, messages) by logging in to your Rover account.

If you have any issues with your request, you can also contact us at Privacy-CAD@rover.com.
