Feedback Feature for Sitters

You have the option to leave detailed feedback after each booking through a structured form. This feedback will help other sitters better understand the needs and behaviors of a pet, and it can help determine whether they’re a good fit before accepting a request.

  • Once a booking ends, you’ll receive an email from Rover prompting you to leave feedback.  You’ll also be notified when a pet parent leaves a review for you.
  • Both you and the pet parent can only leave feedback for each other 21 days after a booking, or 7 days for a recurring service.  Neither of you will be able to see the others’ feedback until the window has closed or you’ve both submitted your feedback.
  • Public feedback is displayed on the pet's profile. This is viewable by you, your client, and any other sitters your client contacts to request care.
Note: Tips are not impacted by the feedback time window. Owners can tip at any time, and you’ll receive payment within 48 hours of when they leave a tip.  

Rover created this feedback process to encourage honest and impartial reviews. Time windows for submitting feedback are common for two-sided marketplaces like Rover because they:

  • Encourage honest and impartial reviews from both parties.
  • Prevent retaliation and biased feedback.
  • Protect you from receiving intentionally negative reviews for stays from a long time ago.

How to leave feedback

  1. Open the booking from the Past bookings section of your inbox.
    Note: If you're leaving feedback for a recurring service, visit the Current bookings section.
  2. Select Leave feedback.
  3. Fill out feedback forms for the pet and/or the pet parent, then select Save and Continue.
  4. Depending on your responses, you might see an option to fill out additional feedback for Rover.


Where can I see this feedback?

You can view feedback from other sitters and feedback you’ve left for the pet on the pet’s profile. Here’s how:

  1. Open the request or booking for the pet you'd like to view feedback for. 
  2. On the top of the screen, tap Details
  3. Tap the pet's name to view feedback for that pet.

  2. On the left side of the screen, click on the pet profile below the pet owner's name.

Your feedback will help your fellow sitters get some first-hand insight into these pets and clients (and whether they might be a good match) before accepting a request.

Can I edit the feedback I left for my client and/or pet?

We can assist with editing your feedback up to 21 days after the booking ends (or 7 days for recurring services), or up until your client leaves a review for you–whichever comes first. If we don’t receive your updated feedback within this period, we can’t complete the update. To contact Rover Support, sign in and send us a message from the Rover Help Center.

Note: As part of this feedback structure, some sections are labeled “Private Feedback.” Your responses in those sections won’t be visible to the pet parent.

Keep in mind this feature isn’t intended to replace the Report function. If you would like Rover to act on your behalf, ‌always use the Report tool. In the unlikely case you experience a safety issue, ‌report it to Rover immediately.

Does the time window for feedback affect how I’m paid for tips?

Tips are not impacted by the feedback time window. Tip payments are added to your account within 48 hours from when your client left a tip. Learn more about payments and tipping here.
